travel-image.jpg The best value guided quality-fishing trips available. Expect to learn, expect to fish differently, expect to see fish that will make you tremble, expect scenery that will blow you away…expect to be home a day and start planning your next trip!

That once in a lifetime trip, will become the annual trip, guaranteed!

We use local guides on these trips. We feel nothing beats local knowledge. Its one thing to have been there before and fished, its another thing to know what suits the conditions at the time, and on the day, particularly if the conditions are against you.

Christmas Island PDF Print E-mail

CHRISTMAS ISLAND, THE PRO-ANGLER PACKAGE: XmasIsland_boat.jpg

Your trip starts with a flight to Nadi, Fiji, to wait for the midnight departure for the connection to Christmas Island with Air Pacific. The flight to Christmas Island is about 4 hours, arriving at 6.30am on a Wednesday morning. You will be met at the airport by our guide, who will drive you to the lodge. The rest of the day can be spent recovering from the flight, checking your fishing gear or we can arrange a shorter into session to get off the mark.

The fishing is all by recommendation: the guide will either suggest shore or flats fishing via boat access. You XmasIslandGuide&Fish.jpgcan request either! The boat is a comfortable 30-foot "local" (with roof for sun protection) with a local boatman at the helm. There will be one guide available for every two fishermen. A personal guide can be arranged for a fee ($100 per day). Our fishing times are flexible, so if you want an extra early start, let us know the day before!

New Zealand (South and North Island) - Fishing Holiday PDF Print E-mail

Oreti-_2002.jpgThe Mataura River was awarded a water conservation order 1996, based on its outstanding fisheries and angling amenity values. It is undeniably New Zealand’s most prolific brown trout fishery. Anglers from all over the world travel to the banks of the Mataura year after year to enjoy the ultimate fly fishing experience.

The Mataura is the second biggest river of the region. Majority of the river is essentially fly fishing water and offers superb dry fly fishing. Rises appear even on the coldest days and at any one time  you may see numerous trout freely rising to dancing insects.

Our base is situated in a small South Island town called Athol, right on the banks of the mighty Mataura River. From Athol we have numerous opportunities and different waterways with both Brown and Rainbow Trout.
Eg: Mararoa, Hamilton Burn, Oreti and Mavora Lakes, just to name a few.

nz2.jpgAll these waters hold large trout compared to Australian conditions. Average sizes in the Mataura are 3- 4lb, but there is always a good chance of catching a 5, 6 even 8lb Rainbows and Browns.
Trout populations are very high in the upper Mataura, drift dives have recorded 40 large fish/km. You can expect to cast to countless fish in a day.
