Located on the West Coast of the South Island, 2 1/2 hours from Christchurch by road, Brent is the local guide who can give you that fishing trip you have dreamed about. Trout fishing on the West Coast of New Zealand is a real challenge for the fisherman. Whether it be dry fly, nymph spinning or trolling you are sure to enjoy the experience. Moana is on the shores of Lake Brunner and is a great place to base yourself.

By road it takes 2 1/2 hours to get there or try the famous Tranzalpine Express. Once you are there a whole world of lakes, rivers, spring creeks and streams opens up for you.

Sight casting to cunning browns in crystal clear streams, stalking the banks and edges of 5 lakes and more than twenty rivers or streams, all within an hours drive of Moana. This area is a must for your itinerary.

Brent can arrange package deals for 2 or 3 day trips, meet you at Hokitika airport or fit in with whatever your requirements happen to be.

You don't have to be a fly fisherman to enjoy the coast, spinning and trolling can be very productive.

Brent has 2 boats that are purpose built for lake work. Feel free to contact Brent if you would like to learn more about your fishing holiday to the West Coast.

Brent is a member of the NZPG Assn. and his boats are surveyed by a government approved surveyor.

Australia first entered the World Fly Fishing Championships in May 1987 as an invitation team.

This was done on the understandingthat for Australia to be involved in future competitions, an organisation representing our country and recognised by the International Federation of  Sport Fishing, would be formed.

Fly Fish Australia Incorporated (FFA) was formed in 1989 and became the recognised body by the International Federation of Sport Fishing for the purpose of selecting teams to represent Australia.

The Board reserves the certain rights with regard to certain matters in the final team selection process, but this is done through the team selection panel which is charged with the responsibility of ensuring the best team for the competition type is chosen.
There are now essentially two principal rules that apply for fly fishers to gain selection to an Australian Team.
Firstly, they must be financial members of Fly Fish Australia and, secondly, they must have qualified in competitions which comply with the rules of Fly Fish Australia.
